Federica Mogherini: Slovakia should stay flexible and open

During its Presidency of the Council of the EU, Slovakia should remain open, flexible and helpful in keeping the EU unified, said EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini on Wednesday. Mogherini, who visited Bratislava earlier in the day, said that she is optimistic and believes that "Slovakia will be successful." Nevertheless, it should be ready as unpredictable things might happen. Since it'll be Slovakia's first presidency, it won't be easy. On the other hand, Mogherini appreciated the personal involvement of the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák and his team. Federica Mogherini was Italy's Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation during Italy's presidency in 2014.
