Four Slovak towns were developed around Baťa shoe making company. Its name is also linked to the Poprad Airport and the Bojnice Castle. All its properties were confiscated in 1947 after a false accusation of collaboration with the Nazi regime. Now the Baťa family is asking for financial compensation worth at least €1 billion.
