Pioneer of Slovak Dubbing Died

At the age of 86, the pioneer of Slovak dubbing Svätopluk Šablatúra died January 16. The renowned director founded the first ever Slovak dubbing studio back in 1957. By that year, films dubbed in the Slovak language were being produced out of this country. Svätopluk Šablatúra had directed a great amount of famous dubbings. Thanks to him, the Slovak versions of Disney's classics of Snow White and Cinderella, both done back in 1970, are simply unbeatable. The generation of star Slovak actors such as Jozef Kroner, Martin Gregor or Maria Prechovska contributed to the perfection of Svätopluk Šablatúra's productions. The late director was also recognised as a filatelist, being a top, authorised expert.
