15th Konvergencie Music Festival

The Konvergencie music festival started September 10 in the Slovak capital with the premiere of a suite of the electroacoustic trio Longital based in Bratislava with a string quartet. The project brings top world contemporary composers and interpreters to local audiences. This year, it will commemorate Estonian minimalist guru Arvo Part's 80^th birthday as well as 40 years of Slovakia's most appreciated chamber orchestra, the Moyzes quartet, and will present the latest project of the ex-Hilliard ensemble member John Potter. The program also includes a concert for children entitled It Doesn't Hurt to Help, It Helps Not to Hurt. The festival of chamber music will close Sunday, September 20, with a concert by the Scandinavian alternative music diva Susanna Wallumrød.
