15th Konvergencie Music Festival

The Konvergencie music festival started September 10 in the Slovak capital with the premiere of a suite of the electroacoustic trio Longital based in Bratislava with a string quartet. The project brings top world contemporary composers and interpreters to local audiences. This year, it will commemorate Estonian minimalist guru Arvo Part's 80th birthday as well as 40 years of Slovakia's most appreciated chamber orchestra, the Moyzes quartet, and will present the latest project of the ex-Hilliard ensemble member John Potter. The program also includes a concert for children entitled It Doesn't Hurt to Help, It Helps Not to Hurt. The festival of chamber music will close Sunday, September 20, with a concert by the Scandinavian alternative music diva Susanna Wallumrød.
