SUMMER READING WITH RSI Pt 3: Obrcian and Vydarená

The series of summer excerpts from Slovak literature in translation continues with the third story from The Book of Bratislava published by Comma Press. Today, Igor Hochel and his story with peculiar title “Obrcian and Vydarená“.

Igor Hochel is better known on the Slovak literary scene for his poetry and his translations from Bulgarian. He has published only one collection of short stories, one of which was included in the Comma Press anthology translated by Charles Sabatos.

Born in Pittsburgh, Charles Sabatos is a professor at Yeditepe University in Istanbul, Turkey, where he researches and lectures on Central European, American and world literature. He is a co-editor of the collection Home and the World in Slovak Writing: A Small Nation's Literature in Context.
