Summer Reading with RSI is a series featuring Slovak literature in translation. The Book of Bratislava, an anthology of contemporary Slovak fiction published by Comma Press, includes also The Last days of Stoka by Lucia Piussi.
Piussi describes some of her short stories as documentary literature. The Last Days of Stoka is based on real events at the cult independent Stoka Theatre and its original venue in downtown Bratislava, which no longer exists. Today, the theatre ensemble continues to perform at the iconic YMCA building.
