Kvantum is a different kind of festival.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been bringing together science and the arts through exhibitions, performances and discussions held at a former shepherds' farm beneath Topoľčany Castle in western Slovakia. In 2026 it explored the theme Pastures and Multiverses and brought together just over a hundred visitors. There were no headline acts. No famous international speakers.

Among the speakers were journalist and writer Peter Getting and translator and former diplomat Igor Otčenáš.
Getting has spent years researching Slovak writers and artists who collaborated with the Nazi-backed Slovak State during the Second World War. The subject received little public attention until the publication of his book Studne mútne in March 2026. In their discussion, Getting and Otčenáš reflected on the role of language when it becomes a tool of totalitarian regimes.
