On 19 June 2026, Katarína Krnáčová was elected Vice-President of the Federation of European Film Academies (FACE). The appointment marks an important milestone for Slovak cinema and reflects its growing international recognition.
Achievements like this would have been difficult to imagine without a strong system of public support for filmmaking. For years, that support was provided by the Audiovisual Fund, established in 2008 to foster the development of Slovakia's audiovisual culture and film industry.
