On Friday, 15 May, London is hosting the launch of an anthology of short stories by Slovak authors in English translation. Published by UK publisher Comma Press, it presents 5 male and 5 female writers of different generations and genres as selected by Slovak Academy of Sciences’s Radoslav Passia who provided the book with an introspective introductory essay. Titled “The Book of Bratislava”, this selection is part of the extensive Reading the City series dedicated to cities worldwide. Introducing the concept as well as the authors are Isabella Barber of the publisher and Julia Sherwood, a promoter of Slovak literature in English translation, respectively.
