CULTURE TIPS: Week #18/19

1 May: Day of Open Ateliers

The art community based at Nová Cvernovka in Bratislava will celebrate 1 May, Labour Day, by opening their studios to the public and showcasing their work. Dozens of studios will welcome visitors, presenting the work of artists, designers, architects, and other creatives.

Visitors will also be able to explore Nová Cvernovka’s community projects, including the community garage, sauna, garden, chicken coop, compost system, greenhouse, and several new initiatives. The event will take place across the former school building and dormitory, and in cooperation with the neighbouring Palma complex, a former factory site that is also part of the cultural area.

Tibetan theatre in Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav Theatre

In Bratislava, a special theatre evening will take place at the Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav Theatre on Thursday, 7 May. The Tibet Institute of Performing Arts will present the traditional culture of this Asian nation. Inviting you to the event is Susanne Kiss:

Bee Empire in Wax Statues on Display in Bratislava

A special show of wax statues made by bees is being presented in Bratislava. Talking about his concept is internationally recognised artist Tomáš Gabzdil Libertíni in an interview conducted by Zuzana Botiková.
