In 2026, public service media marks two important anniversaries: 100 years since the beginning of regular radio broadcasting and 70 years since the launch of television broadcasting in the territory of today’s Slovakia. To mark the occasion, Slovak Radio presents a special jubilee series.
In today’s programme, we look back at the humble yet determined beginnings of radio on the territory of what is now the Slovak Republic — and at how those early signals grew into the public service we know today.
