The Bratislava Puppet Theatre has won the Grand Prix and four other awards at an international festival in Katowice, Poland, for its production The Penguin with the Red Cap.
This year’s festival focused on the mental and physical well-being of children and young people, and on how art can inspire and support them.
Artistic director Katarína Aulitisová said the play, about a colony of penguins, teaches children that being different does not mean being worse—in fact, diversity makes the world more beautiful, and everyone has their place in it.
The 15th Katowice International Children’s Festival took place from October 2nd to 4th.
