Slovak director Tereza Nvotová’s latest feature film, ‘Father’ (Otec), will have its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival this August.
‘Father’ tells the story of a man who accidentally leaves his two-year-old daughter in a hot car – a tragedy inspired by real events. Nvotová says the film explores how even loving parents can become victims of momentary lapses, and aims to spark empathy rather than judgment.
After Venice, it will premiere in Slovakia at the Cinematik festival in Piešťany on September 10, followed by a nationwide cinema release on September 11.
