The 18th edition of the international animation festival Fest Anča opens on Tuesday in Žilina and runs until Sunday, June 29. This year’s theme, Our Bodies, explores how we perceive and live in our physical selves.
The festival features over 200 short and feature-length animated films selected from a record 1,800 submissions from 83 countries. Highlights include works by acclaimed Japanese animator Sawako Kabuki and Danish artist Sara Koppel, both known for tackling themes of intimacy and identity. Winners will be announced on Saturday at Žilina’s Municipal Theatre.
