On Saturday May 17th, Slovakia celebrates the Night of Museums and Galleries, a special event where cultural institutions stay open until midnight or later, offering the public rare access to their “hidden chambers” and behind-the-scenes activities. Coinciding with the International Day of Museums, this night features unique exhibitions, workshops, musical performances, and family-friendly programs across the country. Visitors typically pay a single entrance fee at their first stop, gaining access to all participating venues. Part of a Europe-wide initiative supported by the Council of Europe, the event aims to highlight the role of museums and galleries in promoting cultural exchange, understanding, and peace.
