"Ó" in Košice
On Monday, the 10th of March, a solo exhibition by Eva Moflarova entitled "Ó" will open at the Mina Art Space in Kosice. The idea behind the exhibition is the concept of wonder at life. "Ó!" is an exclamation. As the curator of the show, Gabriela Garlatyova explained, it is a transcendental reflection on life, its forms, but also on its chemical, biological and physical manifestations. The show of organic microstructures resembling images under microscope reminds visitors of biology lessons centering on how life comes into being. The exhibit’s egg-related messages will be on display until the 24th of April.

And a tip for all literature lovers:
On the 4th of March, a comprehensive survey into Slovak literature entitled “Home and the world in Slovak writing” was officially published. It introduces the top figures, genres and themes in Slovak writing in the context of recent political and cultural history, from Stalinism through the fall of Communism to the present-day. Its three editors, Katarina Gephardt, Ivana Taranenkova and Charles Sabatos, will be talking about this major work on Slovak literature for English-speaking readers on one of our Friday programs in March, as the month is dubbed the “month of books” in our country.
