Summer in Slovakia means festivals. Folklore festivals, music festivals, theatre festivals. All shapes and sizes of festivals can be found every weekend all around the country. One such festival is Atmosfera which this year celebrates its 12th anniversary. One weekend in the summer a meadow in the village of Hontianske Nemce becomes a cultural center offering concerts, discussions, lectures, workshops, theatre performances, poetry readings, yoga courses and much more.
We talked to Gretka Pavlovova about what makes Atmosfera special, safety and ecology at festivals and what it is like to organize a small festival.
