Maria Kralovicova joined the national stage in 1948 and was performing until January 2022. Over these 74 years, she took on over 100 roles, many of them leading characters in world classics. For Slovaks, she is the most famous Marina from the love poem by the 19th century national awakening poet Andrej Sladkovic. Kralovicova also played the role of Manon Lescaut and became widely recognised for this character of French drama classics. In 1957, she was the first ever Slovak actress to perform on TV. She passed away on 5th December 2022.
