Composer Mikuláš Schneider Trnavský put together the United Catholic Hymnbook. First published in 1937, it is still used in churches all across the country with Schneider Trnavsky having composed almost half of the 500 songs. It was not only for this achievement that he was granted the Order of St Gregory for the merit of the development of church music by Pope Pius XI. Nevertheless, the Slovak composer has become immortal also through his secular work, an outstanding part of which represents a collection of secular songs that were released on the solo album of significant Slovak tenor Pavol Bršlík aka Pavol Breslik.
