On 3rd September 1972, Radio Devin, a brand new offspring of the then-public broadcaster, was launched. This second station of the Slovak Radio division of Czechoslovak Radio has been focused ever since on art production and culture education, meeting the niche standards of a highbrow audience. The Radio Devin program was transmitted on very high frequencies back in 1972. Over the past 5 decades, it has transformed itself into one of the main FM stations of what is now Slovak Radio. Albeit with its low numbers of listeners, it demonstrates the public nature of RTVS. Everybody has the right to hear quality production.
