The experts in cultural heritage protection went on a protest for the very first time in the history. Preservationists expressed their concerns about the ongoing attempts to adopt the draft of the Construction Act. Slovakia is obliged by the European Convention on the Protection of the Archaeological Heritage adopted in Malta in 1992 to protect this heritage as the source of European collective memory preserved by the work of archaeologists. The Slovak government should consult experts when drafting legislation. And it, allegedly, didn’t.
