For the first time, the open air festival of contemporary art The White Night will be held for three days in a row. This Bratislava tour of galleries and sites housing illuminated artworks starts on Friday, 27th September and continues over the weekend until Sunday. Visitors can see, for example, the prestigious Plastic Fantastique platform for temporary architecture tackling the ideas of rising xenophobia and nationalism; Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas, an inflatable design company from the UK, presenting their Designs in Air; and Australian native Kit Webster with his conceptual Axiom, involving LED arches, located in the Janko Kral Park on the bank of the river Danube. The Košice edition of the White night event starts in a week's time, i.e. on 4th November in this eastern Slovak metropolis, and features big Slovak names such as Dorota Sadovská, Radovan Čerevka, Viktor Freššo, Richard Kitta, and Boris Vaitovič, among others. The festival also gives the floor to students of Fine Arts Academies both in Bratislava and Košice.
