The Slovak National Theatre opened the drama version of the Oscar-nominated, Cannes' Palme d'Or-winning film Square, in its world premiere on Saturday, 2nd February. After succeeding in buying the license for the first unpublished variant of the movie's script, the drama ensemble launched the project - which, according to director Marián Amsler, aspires not only to be a theatre piece independent of the famous movie, but also to become an art installation itself. As in the film, the drama examines the life and expectations of a middle-class curator of a contemporary art gallery.
