110,000 people came to see the film Čiara or The line during the first week of its screening in Slovak cinemas between 3-10 August. Peter Bebjak's piece managed to break the Slovak record for visitors already on its very first day, as 16,423 spectators came to enjoy it. "I have to admit, I did not expect Čiara to get so popular, but we are very happy about it", stated the director. In general, 2017 is a very good year for Slovak movies. Thanks to Čiara, Slovak cinemas have welcomed over a million of visitors interested in Slovak cinematography since January. The movie tells the story of a criminal group operating on the Slovakia-Ukraine border.
