January 20, 2017, marked 20 years since the death of the world famous Slovak artist Albín Brunovský. This painter, graphic artist and illustrator had a unique style highly appreciated not only for his imagery but also for technical mastership. Being the illustrator himself, Albín Brunovský was a co-founder of the international presentation of the art of illustrating books for children - Bienalle of Illustration Bratislava in the 1960's. The 20 Czechoslovak crown banknote of the 1980's issue of Czechoslovak banknotes designed by Albín Brunovský was declared in France the most beautiful banknote of the year 1988. His 7 oil panel paintings decorate the foyer of the Slovak Parliament.
