Slovak Oscar nominee

Slovakia's Oscar nominee is the film Eva Nová. It was chosen out of 14 motion pictures by the Slovak film and TV Academy. The film directed by Marko Škop will thus represent Slovakia in the foreign language film category of the 89^th Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences awards. It presents the story of a former actress and alcoholic who decides to reunite with her son. The film was premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival where it was granted the International Critics' prize.
