On Monday, September 26, Slovaks joined an event entitled European day of languages. Cultural institutes seated in Bratislava presented their languages and culture by organising a language street. The main goal of these activities is to encourage about 800 million citizens of the European council member states to learn foreign languages despite their age in as well as outside of schools. According to the European Centre of Modern Languages, excellence in foreign languages is inevitable - even when working in your home country - as speaking English is often not enough.
