Two international film festivals at the same time

After its 23 years of existence, the Art Film Festival has moved to the eastern town of Kosice this year. The founder of the event Peter Hledik resigned from his position as its vice-president due to this step of the new management. According to him, the film lovers in the original place of the Art Film Festival, the western Slovak spa town of Trencianske Teplice, deserve such an event to continue. That's why he started a completely brand new International Film Festival - Trencianske Teplice. Apart from the chaos in inviting international film stars and presenting so called art films at the same time in two places, it is interesting to point out that the town of Trencianske Teplice has been renowned as the seat of the controversial politician and several times Slovak Prime Minister Vladimir Meciar. Both of the events end in the two places this weekend. The Kosice based Art film fest on Saturday, June 25, and the Trencianske Teplice show-reel on Sunday, June 26. So, just pick the closest one!
