Painting a commie red was infringement

The regional court in Svidnik decided upon the intervention of two artists who had splashed the bust of a former communist leader with red paint back in February 2015. The verdict says it was not a criminal act but an infringement. Ľuboš Lorenc and Peter Kalmus protested this way against the promotion of the communist regime. They were accused of causing damage to someone else by members of the Communist party who ordered and placed the bust as a monument to, according to them, a significant ex-pat of the village in which the statue was placed. Both artists reject being sentenced for even an infringement claiming that they were reacting against a criminal act themselves.
