The Slovak visual art centre known as Kunsthalle Bratislava will be administered by the Slovak National Gallery as of July1. Having been stablished in 2014, the Kunsthalle was so far run by the National Cultural and Educational Centre focusing mainly on educational activities and exhibitions. Due to their disharmony towards bonuses, business trips planning or contracts signing, the Culture Ministry decided upon the change in administrating the Kunsthalle institution. According to its director Juraj Čarný, they will not be able to organise events differently as they do it now when being managed by the Slovak National Gallery. Two years ago, the Culture ministry promised to run the Kunsthalle as an independent institution.Nevertheless, Kunsthalle Bratislava cannot be administered as an institution run by state budget grants as the Finance Ministry banned creating such bodies. The Slovak National Gallery's director Alexandra Kusá sees no problem in incorporating the Kunsthalle into their institution and promises to it as an autonomous brand. Despite this transformation, the Kunsthalle Bratislava will keep on exhibiting top contemporary art in the same place in the centre of the Slovak capital.
