The Slovak National Gallery opened an exhibition entitled The Netherlandish paintings on February 19. Pictures from the period of the years 1500-1800 represent half of the gallery's European old masters' collection. This is mainly due to trends in art collecting in the 19th century when Netherlandish, Dutch as well as Flemish paintings were considered to be of the highest value. It's possible to see the diversity of dominant tendencies in Netherlandish paintings in the Slovak National Gallery until May 22.
